Does a shag work on thick hair?

A person seen from behind with a choppy, layered shag haircut in copper-brown against a warm amber background.

The answer

Often very well, because layers and careful weight removal help thick hair move instead of sitting heavy. The sides should not be cut so short that the shape puffs out into a triangle, and the crown layers are often kept longer than on fine hair. Removing too much weight can leave hair frizzy, so ask your stylist where they plan to take it from.
