Blunt cut
A blunt cut is a straight, clean line across the ends with no layering or texturising, creating a solid, dense edge. It can make fine hair look fuller, which is why some stylists keep the ends of a shag fairly full. In a full or blunt fringe it creates a bold, retro look but needs regular trims. A shag normally avoids a razor-straight line and breaks the edge up instead. See also: Weight line, Point cutting, Perimeter, and the guide Bangs and Shag Haircuts: Choosing a Fringe That Works.
